SPACE HEROES: Rockety Challenge (Ages 13+)

!!WIN!! Be in the running to win a robotics kit!

Learn the basics of space, rocket science and orbital mechanics! We promise, it’s not as hard as it seems. Using ‘Kerbal Space Program’: a simulation game all about space science, design and create a rocket, and launch it into space! Expect explosions.

*What participants must have:

  • To take part in this activity participants will need a desktop computer and or laptop with storage space to run CPU interview program.

SPACE HEROES: Rockety Challenge – Activity Schedule

  • Thursday Afterschool: 6:30 – 7:30pm
  • Friday Afterschool: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
  • Saturday: 12:00pm – 1:30pm
  • Sunday: 12:00pm – 1:30pm

 

Who is this challenge suitable for?

  • Girls and Boys aged 13+ years. No prior animation experience required.
  • At the end of the program, children will have a chance to submit their work and go in the running to win robotic kit.
  • Participants will get to keep their game at the end of the program.

This program is proudly supported by the City of Melton Libraries Team, if oversubscribed priority will be given to Parents and Kids residing in the City of Melton.

What does this cost?

Nothing – Thanks to the support of Melton City Council the STEM Equipment Lending program is free to families in the City of Melton.

 

City of Melton Tech Heroes Club created by Western BACE

The Tech Heroes Club created by Western BACE and powered by the City of Melton Libraries Team is back for the Lifelong Learning Festival. Girls and Boys Aged 5-15 from the City of Melton can join in a range of free self-paced Robotics, Coding, Design and Tech challenges over the course of the Festival. Group and 1-1 online support will be provided by the Western BACE STEM Squad and robotics kits by the Western BACE STEM Lending Library. Additionally, as part of Lifelong Learning Festival, adults will be able to try their hand at adult only “Coding for Beginners” challenge. At the end of the festival, participants will have a chance to submit their work and go in the running to win a robotics kit.
